Terrarium: 10 gallons for an adult. Fill 1/2 of the terrarium with fine substrate that retains moisture well. Add pieces of wood on the ground and a few on top, living moss and a good layer of dry leaves. Make sure you have a cover, they climb.
Temperature: 20-25C
Humidity: A saucer of water should always be available. Keep the substrate moist but not soaked. In order to obtain a gradient, overflow the bowl of water and tilt the terrarium slightly on the opposite side to let the water flow to the bottom. Moisten as needed with a sprayer. Opt for cross ventilation.
Diet: Detritivores. REPASHY Morning Wood contains all the nutrients millipedes need. They also eat rotten wood, living moss, dead leaves and accept certain fruits and vegetables eg cucumber, carrots, apple. Always provide calcium either via their food or via a dry bone to ensure a good moult.
Possible cohabitation: Isopods and springtails.
Handling: Not recommended. When threatened, they curl up OR release a noxious liquid that can cause burns to skin or eyes.
